Dynamic Pulsed Light PhotoFacial

DPL is a next-gen version of IPL—more precise, more comfortable, and often more effective, especially for pigmentation and redness. It’s like the “smart” version of IPL.

IPL vs. DPL Photofacial: What’s the Difference?

Technology & Light Precision

  • IPL (Intense Pulsed Light):

Uses a broad spectrum of light wavelengths. It targets multiple skin concerns but is less selective, which can sometimes lead to lower efficiency or more discomfort for certain skin types.

  • DPL (Dynamic Pulsed Light):

A more advanced, refined version of IPL. It uses a narrower, more precise wavelength range, allowing it to more accurately target pigmentation, redness, and vascular lesions while minimizing damage to surrounding skin.

Treatment Accuracy

  • IPL:

Good for general photorejuvenation, but results can vary depending on the technician and settings.

  • DPL:

Offers better absorption and specificity, especially for uneven skin tone, rosacea, acne marks, and sun damage. Great for sensitive areas or clients seeking faster, more visible results.

 Comfort & Downtime

  • IPL:

May feel more intense or uncomfortable for some clients. Occasional redness or swelling post-treatment.

  • DPL:

Typically more comfortable, with less downtime, due to the more focused energy delivery.

Ideal Candidates

  • IPL:

Works best on lighter skin tones (Fitzpatrick I–III) with mild to moderate sun damage or discoloration.

  • DPL:

Better suited for a wider range of skin tones and concerns. It’s more customizable and often safer for slightly deeper tones (but still not ideal for very dark skin tones).
